Question:
I am locating in NY on 3/23/16 (2.5 months ago) I agreed on a small settlement amount against a large hospital. My attorney said the hospital lawyers want a letter saying I don’t owe anything to Medicaid before they release the check. I was on medicaid, but they paid no portion relating to this case. At my last follow up with the lawyer, they claim they have still heard nothing. Is there anything I can do to speed things up?
Answer:
As a Buffalo Accident Lawyer, I am often asked this common question. Medicaid and Medicare issues are very common hold-ups. The defense attorneys are protecting their client from any lien claims later. Check with your lawyer to see if there were any conditions to the settlement.
